Configuring: Sort Fields

Prioritize the order of the selected fields to be sorted, and decide on ascending or descending order for the field row values. Configure each of the fields in ascending or descending order, because if there are duplicated values of a higher prioritized field, the sorting criteria of the following field will be considered.

Worked example: Sort fields

Steps to configure

  1. Field selection: Select which fields will be sorted. Prioritize the selected fields to determine the sorting order, and define if values need to be sorted in an ascending or descending order.

  2. Execute: A new dataset is created, listing the fields according to the field and sorting option selected. All original fields will be included in the new dataset, with sorted fields listed above those fields not selected to be sorted.

Step 1: Field selection

Select the fields you would like to sort from the list of available fields.

  • Within the selected field window: use the up and down arrows to prioritize the sorting order of the fields.

  • Define sorting in ascending or descending order for each field.

  • Default: All fields are listed in the available window.

  • Minimum configuration: At least one field needs to be selected.

Step 2: Execute

A new dataset will be created, ordering the data according to the selected sorting option. All original fields will be included in the new dataset, with sorted fields listed above those fields not selected to be sorted.
